Reflective Bible Study
Take a breath during the slower pace of summer. This reflective study of Scripture invites you to dwell in God's Word, offering space for contemplation, meaningful discussion, and prayerful responsiveness to the movement of the Holy Spirit.
Led by Pastor Katie Fowler and David Kim.
Meets in Cheesman Park (where Franklin Street meets 8th Avenue), Thursdays in July at 6:30 PM — July 9, 16, 23, and 30.
Cheesman Park Art Fest
Following Jesus means we’re called to love our neighbors in clear, tangible ways. That’s why each year our church hosts a Kids’ Craft Booth at the Cheesman Park Art Fest.
A number of years ago the festival organizers reached out to our partner church, Corona Presbyterian, and asked them to provide activities for families with kids during this event. Now Nova has embraced this as a way to be a presence at a major city event happening just a few blocks from our building. This is one of our most significant outreach events of the year!
You can sign-up for a shift and help kids make crafts, or just make conversation with parents and passersby. This is a simple way to embody the kindness of Jesus!

All-Church Meeting
dinner at 6:30PM, meeting begins at 7PM
(Zoom option available for those who can’t attend in person)
Mark your calendars for this really important night!
This will be our first official community meeting together with our partner church, Corona Presbyterian. (This sort of meeting is often called a “congregational meeting,” if you’re familiar with that terminology.)
In our kind of church structure, a shared leadership group made up of “elders” (together with the pastors) provide spiritual leadership and direction for the local church. We will be voting in Nova’s first elder, and speaking to several other matters related to our shared life as a church. (If you are a “covenant partner,” you’ll be able to vote, but everyone who is part of the Nova community is welcome to participate and add their voice to the conversation.)
(Want to join the meeting via Zoom? Here’s the link.)
At 6:30PM we’ll have a quick dinner of salad and pizza in the Fireside Room (Nova’s gathering space). This is a good opportunity to connect with folks from our partner church, Corona Presbyterian.
Then we’ll move into the upstairs sanctuary for the 7PM business meeting. (Why the sanctuary? Because it’s equipped with livestreaming capability, which allows us to offer a Zoom option for those who can’t attend in person.)
Register now to let us know you’ll be there!
Community Hike
Meet at Mt Falcon - West Trailhead at 5:30PM
easy hike - 2.6 mile loop, ~350 ft of elevation gain, ~1.5 hours
Hike organized by Will D.

Easter Sunday + Community Dinner
Easter means all things new!
What happened 2,000 years ago in a graveyard outside Jerusalem? Did a dead man really come back to life? And if so, what difference could that make to your life today? What would it mean for our world? At Nova Church we believe that Jesus rose from the dead on that first Easter morning. This moment changes everything! It means hope is alive and hope is here! Hope for renewal — in your life and in our world. Join us for Easter on Sunday, April 5 at 5pm, as we celebrate this hope of renewal God wants to give you through Jesus. Immediately following our worship gathering, we will host a Community Feast. All are invited and welcome to join.
