Nova Community Meeting and Dinner
Stick around after our worship gathering on April 28 as we discuss the results of the community survey, talk about next steps for us as a church, and dream about what it means to practice resurrection together! Dinner will be provided (Jimmy Johns).
Welcoming the Foreigner
Join us on Thursday, May 16 from 7-9PM for a listening and learning event on how Scripture informs our posture and response to real life events and people around us. Speaker, Michelle Warren, will be leading us in a conversation on the biblical perspective of immigration. Michelle has committed her life to serving her community, working to bridge divides and strengthening collective public engagement for a more just world. She is a nationally recognized faith leader, advocate, author & speaker. This is a free event hosted by Nova. All are welcome to join.
Community Dinner
Join us on Sunday, May 19 following our worship gathering for a community dinner as we celebrate the goodness of God together (Jimmy Johns). Please note, the nursery will not be open during the community dinner. Feel free to bring your children to enjoy dinner.
Ice Cream Social
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Join us on Wednesday, May 22 from 6-8 PM for a Nova Ice Cream Social on the Fowler rooftop. Feel free to BYOD (bring your own dinner) and also enjoy some free ice cream. Did we mention there would be some epic sunset views? Be there or be square.
Book Club
The next meeting for Nova’s Book Club will be on Wednesday, April 24 at 7PM. We will have dessert and discuss our next book - The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Daré. Feel free to invite friends to join us!

Mental Health First Aid Training
Join us for a one-day training on Saturday, April 13 to be better aware, informed, and equipped to respond to the mental health needs of neighbors, friends, and family members. This is a practical way to care for those around us and strengthen connections in our community. Mental Health First Aid Training is a skills-based course led by Stace Renouf that teaches participants about mental health and substance use issues. Cost is $10. If you would like to attend and need financial assistance, please email Katie at katie@novadenver.org. Space is limited.

Join us this Sunday, April 7 for a service opportunity immediately following our worship gathering. We will be making 300 snack bags for migrant shelters in town.
Easter
You’re invited to Easter with Nova Church!
What happened 2,000 years ago in a graveyard outside Jerusalem? Did a dead man really come back to life? And if so, what difference could that make to your life today? Good Friday
Enter into the mystery and power of Jesus’ final hours on the cross.
Connect with the meaning of Good Friday as we gather to worship and reflect on the weight of Jesus’s suffering and sacrifice.
Nova Church will be hosting a traditional tenebrae service. Tenebrae is Latin for “darkness.” As we read the account of Jesus’s crucifixion and death, candles will be slowly extinguished until it is totally dark. Then we will leave in silence.

Palm Sunday
Who is this King who came riding into Jerusalem on a donkey? Who is the humble king? Who do you say that Jesus is? The crowds had an answer. What is yours?
Join us for our Palm Sunday service as we celebrate the first day of Holy Week. Our worship gathering begins at 5PM. The nursery is available for infants- children 4 years of age and Nova Kids is available for children 5-8 years of age. There will also be a crafts and activities table set up for children in the Fireside Room. Nova Church is located at 1205 E 8th Ave.

March Madness
It’s that time of year. March Madness is upon us. Time to get your bracket on. Join Nova’s pool today and make your individual bracket starting on Selection Sunday (March 17) until the start of the first game on March 19.

History Colorado Collections Tour
Visit History Colorado's Collection with a behind-the-scenes tour with Kimberly Kronwall. The tour has space for ten (10) people and will showcase the state's museum collection and how work in history is relevant to our lives today in partnership with the renewing work of Jesus. Kimberly will show the work of the museum collections team by exploring three floors of collections spaces and how history isn't just in the past. History Colorado is the state history museum located at 1200 Broadway and tours will begin in the museum lobby. Information about parking can be found here.
Metro Caring Service Project
Following our worship gathering on Sunday, March 3, we will be partnering with Metro Caring, packaging meals of rice and beans for people in need within our community. You can learn more about Metro Caring at metro caring.org. Please sign-up to volunteer below.

Ash Wednesday
Join us on Wednesday, February 14 at 6:30PM for our Ash Wednesday service. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Lent is a time to prepare for the celebration of Easter.
Ash Wed is a night of honesty. A night of coming face to face with the reality of death. For dust you are and to dust you will return. But God meets us here. “What is this you have done?” Grace finds us here.
Super Bowl Sunday
Join us on Sunday, February 11 at 4PM for our worship gathering. Immediately following the service, stay for our Super Bowl Party. Good food, good company and some football. Invite friends to join us!
Covenant Partner Workshop
Want to put roots down in the Nova community? There is something good and beautiful about making a commitment to follow Jesus together.
A “covenant partner” is what we call someone who is committed to the people and mission of Nova Church. We will have our next covenant partner workshop in the new year. This is space for you to learn more about the mission and vision of Nova and discern if this is the next step God is calling you to make.

What does it look like when the presence of Jesus is at work? One of the signs of renewal we long to see is beauty. We are called to be co-creators as we join in the Spirit’s renewing work.

Christmas Eve on Capitol Hill
You’re invited to a classic candlelight Christmas Eve service on Sunday, December 24th from 5:00-6:00PM (1205 E. 8th Ave.) Enjoy a casual, family-friendly service that combines traditional candle lighting, classic Christmas carols and hymns, and a relevant and uplifting message.
Nova Church is hosting this event in partnership with Corona Presbyterian Church. We will gather together in the sanctuary space at 1205 East 8th Avenue.
Advent Prayer Space
In the midst of a season that can feel packed and fast-paced, we want to provide a midweek space for prayerful reflection. The Nova space will be opened from 7-8 PM every Wednesday of Advent. We will have 5 prayer stations that you can work your way through, at your own pace. It will be self-guided time with quiet music on in the background.
