The first Christians followed a pattern of prayer three times daily: morning, midday, and night.

As Nova Church enters a new season, we are calling our community into this shared practice.  Together let’s seek God’s face and ask Jesus to do in our midst what only he can.

Morning Prayer

Say the Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.

Amen.

Now take a moment to pray for the flourishing of central Denver and of your neighborhood.

Ask God for signs of Christ’s renewing work (specifically community, beauty, justice, wholeness, and worship).

Midday Prayer

Intercede.

To intercede is to pray on behalf of another.

List 3 people you personally know who are not followers of Jesus.  Pray for them by name each day at this time. Ask God to bless them in every way, and pray they would hear Jesus’ invitation to enjoy life with God.

Evening Prayer

Reflect and practice gratitude.

Take a moment to pause and breathe deeply.

Reflect: Where have you seen God at work today?  Have you noticed any signs of renewal?  Talk to God about what you saw — and also what you didn’t see — where you long to see God work?  Let your heart rest in God.

What is something you are grateful for tonight?  Express your thankfulness to God.

As you close, invite God’s Spirit into your evening and into the day ahead.

Come Holy Spirit!

(This pattern of prayer is adapted from the 24-7 Prayer movement.)
