Plan Your Visit
Meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating.
And going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking.
We know this, and we want to do everything we can to help you feel welcome and at home at Nova Church!
Sundays at 10am and 5pm
Location and Directions
Nova Church gathers for worship in central Denver in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, just a short walk from Cheesman Park. We meet in the Fireside Room inside the historic Corona Presbyterian Church building at the corner of 8th Avenue and Downing Street, across the street from Dora Moore School.
Parking and Transportation
Drive
The church parking lot is located directly north of the building, accessible from Downing Street.
-
There are other options if the church lot is full. Overflow parking is available in the staff lot at Dora Moore School (accessible from Downing Street).
Free 2-hour street parking is available on both sides of Downing Street. On weekends the far right lane of 8th Avenue becomes a parking lane, so you can street park on 8th.
Walk
Our worship gathering takes place in the highly walkable Capitol Hill neighborhood. If you live nearby, take a walk and make Nova your neighborhood church.
Bike
Ride to church! We’ve provided a bicycle rack at the northwest corner of our building. And bikes are welcome in the church lobby and our worship gathering space.
Public Transit
RTD offers two bus routes with stops within a block of our building: Bus 6 and Bus 12. You can use RTD’s trip planner to find your best route.
What can I expect?
-
Our worship gatherings include engaging music, times of prayer, and a message from the Christian Scriptures. Most weeks we also share communion.
We follow a simple liturgy rooted in the practices of historic Christianity, but the atmosphere is relaxed and informal.
-
Our worship gathering lasts around 1 hour.
A lot of us hang around after the service, so if you have time grab a snack or a drink and hang with us.
-
Come as you are! There’s no dress code here.
-
The services begin at 10am and 5pm. Doors open at 9:30am and 4:30pm.
For the 10am service, if you want to check kids into the nursery, you’ll want to give yourself an extra 5 minutes to go through the check-in process.
-
The church parking lot is located directly north of the building, accessible from Downing Street.
-
The main entrance is on the west side of the building, facing Downing Street. Someone will be at the door to greet you and help you find your way.
-
During our 10am service, we offer a program for elementary children ages 5-8 during the service led by trained leaders who have previously performed a background check. When you arrive, you will be guided to the check-in station in the lobby. Nova Kids program is a safe, fun environment that includes an activity, game, and Bible lesson. Immediately at the conclusion of the sermon, please meet your child at the double doors in the back of the sanctuary.
-
At both our 10am and 5pm service, the nursery is available for infants through 4 years old. Our background checked and trained nursery staff will provide a safe, fun environment for your kids during our worship gathering.
When you arrive, you will be guided to a check-in station in the lobby and directed to the nursery directly up the ramp and down the hall.
-
Snacks and refreshments are available every week. A lot of us hang around after the service, so if you have time grab a snack or a drink and hang with us.
Once a month we have a community lunch or dinner during or after our worship gathering. Check our events to find the details for our next community meal.
Whoever you are,
whatever your story,
you’re invited!
Are you ready to visit Nova Church? We’d love to get to meet you.
